Lonrho has added a new 5-star hotel in Gaborone, Botswana to the Lonrho Hotels portfolio. The group will open the new hotel in July 2012.
The Lonrho Lansmore Masa Square will be Gaborone’s second 5-star hotel, offering 153 luxury guest bedrooms as well as superior Lansmore Club bedrooms. The hotel includes a purpose built Conference Centre with capacity for up to 350 delegates, a roof-top pool and cocktail bar, a Lonrho business lounge, Espretto coffee shop and a gourmet restaurant, Le Touché de Provence.
Gaborone is developing rapidly with growth in the leisure and business markets. The new hotel is located in Masa Square, the heart of Gaborone’s new CBD and the Lonrho Lansmore will be the first hotel to service this developing market.
Prime position
David Lenigas, executive chairman of Lonrho said: “The new Lonrho Lansmore Masa Square hotel is located in the prime market position right at the heart of Gaborone’s new central business district and close to the High Court. The Lansmore Masa Square gives guests easy access to this landmark square, accommodating guests with all the comfort expected from a 5-star Lonrho Lansmore Hotel. There is no better place to stay in Gaborone.”
Says Lonrho Hotels chief executive Ewan Cameron: “Lansmore places our guests where they want to be – connecting them in the continent’s high growth destinations. We’ve designed the Touché de Provence restaurant and Espretto coffee bar to cascade into Lansmore Masa Square, to create a beautiful space to relax and spend time with friends.”
Guest benefits
Features that Lansmore guests can enjoy include: arrival concierge, next day’s shirt pressed on arrival, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi powered by a designated satellite link, Lonrho’s business lounge, a tray of African teas, coffees and local fruit in your bedroom and the reassurance that the 24/7 guest service team is always one button away.
“This is a landmark development for Gaborone,” says developer and managing director of RDC Properties, Guido Giachettii. “The new Lonrho Lansmore Hotel is going to be the hub of entertainment and cultural life in Gaborone. We’ve been working on this exciting project for nearly four years and we’re very happy to be partnering with Lonrho Hotels who have the experience and expertise to make the hotel a Botswana landmark.”
